The Road of the Jesuit 'Estancias' (AR 061)

Located in the center of Argentina, the province of Cordoba boasts a unique historical patrimony that has been incorporated to the Mankind Heritage by UNESCO: the Road of the Jesuits 'Estancias'.

Day 1 - Ascochinga
Reception at Cordoba airport and transfer to Estancia La Paz, General Roca's old residence. You will be able to ride on horseback, travel onold carriage and row in the lake, among other activities. Lunch.
In the afternoon visit to Candonga Chapel. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner. Accommodation at the estancia.

Day 2 – Ascochinga / Cordoba
Breakfast. Departure towards Estancia Santa Catalina, important cattle ranch (cows, sheeps, mules). Its church is the outstanding element, built in barroque-colonial style. Continue towards Estancia Jesús María, a ranch dedicated to the wine production, where you will visit the National Jesuit Museum. The visit follows on to Colonia Caroya, the first ranch bought by the Jesuits in 1616, later used as a holiday resort by the students of Monserrat School and even later as an arm factory. Lunch.
Continue to the city of Cordoba, one of the three most important cities in Argentina. Dinner. Accommodation.

Day 3 - Córdoba
Breakfast. Visit the Civic Center, first settlement of the Jesuits in Córdoba and testimony of the Jesuit´s Company. Visit the main buildings, educational centers and churches, around which in 1600 the “Estancias Jesuíticas” were settled. Lunch.
In the afternoon visit Estancia Alta Gracia, the fourth ranch bought by the Jesuits, which was mainly devoted to the production of looms and the manufacture of bells. It is interesting to visit the church and the 'Tajamar', of the estancia, the oldest dam in the province. Return to the hotel. Dinner.

Day 4 - Córdoba
Breakfast. Departure to visit Estancia La Candelaria which used to be a large cattle ranch. Lunch.
Return to the city. Dinner.

Day 5 - Córdoba
Breakfast. Departure to the airport.

In addition to the visit of the Civic Center and other jesuit establishments in Córdoba city, we will visit the estancias of Alta Gracia, Caroya, Jesús María and Santa Catalina.
