Patagonia (AR 031)
A comprehensive tour around Patagonia visiting its main attractions from
the Atlantic Ocean to the Andes: Puerto Madryn and one of the most important
wildlife reserves in the world for its wide variety of marine fauna: whales,
sea elephants, sea lions, and penguins; Calafate and the wonder of the
glaciers so incredibly at hand; Ushuaia and the magic of a visit to this
enchanting land located right at the end of the world.

Day 1 - Trelew / Puerto Madryn
Reception and assistance at Trelew airport. Transfer to Puerto Madryn
(flight arrival must be before 9.00 am) Departure to Punta Tombo Rookery
to admire a magnificent colony of millions of Magellan penguins. Accommodation.
Dinner
Day 2 - Puerto Madryn
Continental breakfast. Full day tour to Península Valdés,
passing by Ameghino Isthmus, located between the Nuevo and the San Jose
Gulfs. Visit Puerto Pirámide, where there is a sea lion rookery
and it's a great opportunity to take the optional boat excursion for an
outstanding whale watch you cannot miss (available from June to November).
Continue to Punta Delgada for a view of its important colony of sea lions
and Caleta Valdés where sea elephants seem to have found their
ideal natural habitat. Lunch included. Return to Puerto Madryn.
Day 3 - Puerto Madryn / Ushuaia
Continental breakfast. Transfer to Trelew airport (*) to board the flight
to Ushuaia. Reception at Ushuaia airport and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
In the afternoon city tour including a visit to the End of the World Museum.
Dinner.
Day 4 - Ushuaia
Continental Breakfast. Departure to Tierra del Fuego National Park, located
only 12 km from the city. It preserves typical species of the Andean-Patagonic
Forest such as firebushes, beech trees, ñires, box leafed barberries
and flowers, spread in an area of 63,000 hectares. Before entering the
National Park you will board the Train to the End of the World and enjoy
an unforgettable trip along the original terreplain where the old prisoners'
train ran until 1947 for their expeditions into the National Park, in
search of wood for heating. The highlight of the park is Lapataia Bay,
the southernmost tip of the continent, with a wonderful view of the Beagle
Channel. Here, the old inhabitants of the area have left their testimony
in the "concheros", incredible archeological deposits. Return
to the hotel. Dinner.
Day 5 - Ushuaia
Continental breakfast. Transfer to Ushuaia airport to board the flight
to El Calafate. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. Dinner.
Note: in case of flying to Río Gallegos, optional bus transfer
to El Calafate (316 km) (*).
Day 6 - El Calafate
Continental breakfast. Departure from the hotel towards Puerto Bandera,
50 km from the town, to board the catamaran to enjoy a full day lake excursion
to Upsala Glacier and Onelli Bay, cruising among hundreds of icebergs
that have broken off the glaciers. Upsala is the largest continental glacier
in the Southern Hemisphere. The height of its walls varies between 60
to 80 meters and it has an area of 595 km2. Return to El Calafate. Dinner.
Day 7 - El Calafate
Continental breakfast. Overland trip to Perito Moreno Glacier, one of
the world’s largest active continental glaciers, declared Universal
Mankind´s Heritage Site by UNESCO, because of its breathtaking beauty
and its unusual behaviour. Dinner.
Day 8 - El Calafate
Continental breakfast. Transfer to El Calafate airport or departure for
optional tours: Torres del Paine, Fitz Roy or Helsingfors.
Note: in case of flying from Río Gallegos, optional bus transfer
from El Calafate (316 km) (*).

Winter

Within this season, we operate this "CLASSIC PATAGONIA" but
by the mid of April there are hardly any penguins left in the colony.
Therefore, instead we offer an excursion to Chubut River Valley, visiting
Gaiman, a typical Welsh colony enclosed in a beautiful landscape. Discover
another impressive natural wonder, the Southern Right Whale, as every
winter, 600 of these enormous mammals (the total world population totals
no more than 5,000 specimen) make their way into the waters around Puerto
Piramide, and enjoy a fascinating boat trip to appreciate this unique
spectacle. Spend one additional night in Ushuaia as the winter season
is ideal to enjoy its ski centers. Also, visit the Huskies Valley and
sail along the waters of the Beagle Channel. At El Calafate, you will
spend just two nights, because the Upsala Glacier navigation is not available
during this season.
Torres del Paine –
Chile (AR 018)

This tour takes you into Torres del Paine National Park. This park, located
in southern Chile, is considered one of the most spectacular National
Parks due to its towers and horns which seem like real columns sculpted
by glaciers. Punta Arenas, the capital of the Magallanes Region and a
center for commerce, culture and society, where the majestic airs of its
rich past can still be breathed is also a very nice place to visit.
Day 1 - El Calafate / Torres del Paine
Departure to Chile, by regular bus line *, via Mina 1 or Cancha Carrera.
Border crossing and continue to Puerto Natales and later to Torres del
Paine National Park. Arrival and accommodation. (If accommodation in Torres
del Paine is not available, passengers may be lodged in Puerto Natales).
Day 2 - Torres del Paine
Breakfast. Full day excursion to Torres del Paine National Park to admire
its marvellous flora and fauna with the magnificent frame of the Torres
del Paine Massif. A unique chance to admire the wonderful scenery of its
lakes, rivers and glaciers. Return to the hotel.
Day 3 - Torres del Paine
Breakfast. Day at leisure to enjoy any of the optional tours offered in
the park. Accommodation.
Day 4- Torres del Paine / El Calafate
Breakfast. Early departure to El Calafate by regular bus line *. Transfer
from the Bus Terminal to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 5- El Calafate
Breakfast. Transfer to the local airport to board the return flight.

Fitz Roy (AR 017)

Take this chance to visit El Chaltén, a tiny Andean town placed
at the foothill of Mount Fitz Roy (3,405 m) and Mount Torre (3,102 m),
preferred destinations for andinists from all over the world due to the
challenge that the steep carved-like slopes pose offers the lovers of
risk. This tiny town founded in 1985 whose population reaches 300 inhabitants
has been declared the National Trekking Capital. This is the perfect place
to enjoy the solitude of this enchanted land, where nature reigns and
where man has left very few traces.
Day 1 - El Calafate / El Chaltén
Early transfer by regular bus line to El Chaltén. Reception and
accommodation. Depart on a trekking to Pliegue Tumbado, the only place
in the area where you can see the entire panorama of the most important
mountains of Patagonia: Mt. Torre and Mt. Fitz Roy. A wondrous unforgettable
image that will be printed in your heart indelibly. Return to the hotel.
Day 2 - El Chaltén
Continental breakfast. Full day trekking to Río Blanco Glacier,
passing by Mt. Rosado and Mt. León. Border Chorrillo del Salto
river, where a breathtaking view of the Fitz Roy and Saint Exupery massifs
is observed. Walk to the Capri Lagoon, enjoying a stroll along mountains,
rivers, forests, the beautiful scenery of Patagonia, world renowned for
trekking. Continue to Río Blanco up to the camp site to initiate
the ascention to Laguna de Los Tres, at the foothill of Mt.Fitz Roy (8
hours).
Day 3 - El Chaltén / El Calafate
Continental breakfast. In the morning, optional trekking to Torre Lake,
skirting the Fitz Roy River, and through a lenga wood where it's common
to see the red head woodpeckers and a covey of parrots. Arrival at the
camp site, base of the climbing expeditions and continue to Bridwell Camp
with an excellent panoramic view of Torre Lake, Las Adelas Glacier, Torre
Glacier and Mt. Torre (6 hours). Return to the town and in the afternoon,
transfer to El Calafate by regular bus line. Reception at the bus station
and transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 4 - El Calafate
Continental Breakfast. Transfer to El Calafate airport to board the flight
to Buenos Aires.
Optional: transfer by regular bus line to Río Gallegos airport
