Day 04 - RIO DE JANEIRO
Fabela Tour. The slums are now part of the known reality of large urban centers.
The first favela was formed about 106 years in the Morro da Providencia, the city of Rio de Janeiro, built for the surviving soldiers of the War of Canudos as a kind of gratitude for services rendered to Brazil.
In 1948, the first official census of slums reveals the presence of 105 slums, housing 138,837 residents, representing 7% of the population of Rio de Janeiro.
In this script the Jeep tour aims to show the joy, solidarity and openness on the part of community residents in Rio.
We know this whole routine tour of the community walking their streets, alleys and house which we can enjoy panoramic views worthy of postcard and know works of art made by the residents themselves revealing all the talent of local artisans.
