Lago Yunque - La Junta, Region X, Patagonia, Chile
The immensity of the Chilean Andes mountain range hides this
cozy lodge, where the open and savage environment becomes
an exclusive and magical place with a private lake and kilometers
of shoreline. The 200 hectares of Lake Yunque are characterized
by its forested landscape, typical of the virgin Valdiviana
forest, which includes a variety of oak trees, such as “colihue”,
“manio”, Chilean cypress and “caña
quila”. Lake Yunque is rich in trout and huge, full-sized
salmon, and in its forests, you can find wild boars, pumas
and species of pudu-pudu (native deer).
Lago Yunque has a main house of 270 m2, with six rooms and
five bathrooms, a big lobby and a dinning-room. Its typical
Mapuche decor emits a very special warm embrace. Privacy of
guests is assured as the Lodge also has a house for the janitors
and a house for the guides with two rooms and service rooms
within the main house. The Lodge’s infrastructure is
completed with a place for mounting horses, a greenhouse and
an exclusive dock on the lake. The activities offered at the
Lodge include walking, horseback riding, trekking, navigation
of the Palena River’s rapids to the Pacific Ocean, rafting,
sport fly fishing for trout and salmon in the river and Lake
Yunque.
