Built on the Ayllú (neighborhood) de Larache in San
Pedro de Atacama, the hotel develops along a main
building and three patios. Rooms are lined up with
corridors opening to a patio. Corridors meet in the
main building, crossed by two ample passages: the
Pasaje de la Luz and the Pasaje del Agua.
The architecture evokes, from the materials used in
its construction together with its form, the suggestions
made by the nature and cultures of the area. The
hotel assures hospitable refuge inviting to enjoy in
freedom and security. More than a home, the hotel
is an experience, an open balcony towards the
surrounding beauty.

Explorations
Each day explora guests can join a variety of
explorations which have been carefully created. Every
day you can choose from 5 to 10 different options
specifically selected according to the weather, the
guest desires, the duration and the level of difficulty.
Walking, horseback riding, in a van or by bicycle and
accompanied by guides, you can explore with emotion
the nature or the history of Atacama.
Clothing
Explorations require clothing suitable for trekking.
Warmer clothing is necessary when climbing heights
or for walking early in the morning or during the late
afternoon. We recommend bringing all that’s necessary
for protection from the sun.
• Fleece and windbreaker or parka.
• Short- and long-sleeved cotton shirts.
• Trekking pants (preferably ones that can be unzipped
into shorts). We suggest thermal underwear for
high ascents or to visit the geysers, especially
during winter.
• Comfortable hiking boots with anti-slip rubber soles
and sturdy ankle support to avoid possible sprains.
• Sneakers or sports shoes.
• Swimsuit.
• Flip-flops for use at the Termas de Puritama hot
springs or at lakes.
• Sunglasses.
• Hat to protect yourself from the sun.
• Hat or headband to protect your ears from the
wind or the cold when at the geysers.
• Sunscreen and lip protection.
• Backpack to carry sunscreen, camera, water, etc.
• For inside the hotel: light, informal clothing (the
hotel is heated).
explora considers elegance an interior virtue.
